The Badung Regency Government, Bali, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the sports-based tourism sector, or sport tourism. This strategy is realized through full support for the Padel Island Tournament Series held in the region.
Badung Regent, I Wayan Adi Arnawa, stated that the growing popularity of padel sports presents a strategic opportunity to reach new tourist segments. As a concrete form of support, the local government allocated financial assistance of IDR 30 million to ensure the success of the tournament.
Beyond serving as a destination promotion tool, this event is expected to boost the local economy and serve as a platform to scout potential athletic talent. The government holds high hopes that this tournament can evolve into an international annual sports event in the future.
Through this transformation, Badung is optimistic about expanding its global image, not only as a hub of natural beauty but also as a premier destination for international sports enthusiasts. Regent Adi Arnawa also emphasized the importance of sportsmanship for all participants to nurture local athletes capable of competing at higher levels.
