The search operation for two teenagers from Krinjing Village, Watumalang District, Wonosobo Regency, who were reported missing on Mount Bismo has finally come to an end. After being missing for nearly two weeks, Arifin Nurohmat (18) and Yufaidin (15) were found deceased by a joint search team.
The two victims were previously reported missing since Tuesday (June 30, 2026) after allegedly hiking in the Mount Bismo area. An intensive search process involving local residents and a volunteer team from Wanadri bore fruit on Sunday (July 12, 2026) afternoon. Both bodies were found around 1:00 PM WIB at a valley location beneath Curug Tiga.
A rescuer from the Wonosobo SAR Post, Ardi Tyas Sasongko, explained that the location where the victims were found was terrain quite difficult for ground teams to reach. The challenging geographical conditions in the area had temporarily hindered the evacuation process. Currently, authorities have followed up on the discovery and are coordinating further regarding the handling of the victims' bodies.
