Mayor of Palu, H. Hadianto Rasyid, received an official audience from the leadership of BPJS Kesehatan Palu Branch at the Mayor's Official Residence on Wednesday (8/7/2026). This meeting also served as an introductory moment for the new Head of BPJS Kesehatan Palu Branch, Endang Triana Simanjuntak, in carrying out her duties in the capital of Central Sulawesi.
The main focus of the discussion was the collective effort of both institutions to maintain and preserve the Priority Universal Health Coverage (UHC) status achieved by Palu City. Synergy between the local government and the social security provider is considered the main key to delivering a sustainable health ecosystem for the community.
Endang Triana Simanjuntak expressed high appreciation for the Palu City Government's continuous support of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Program. According to her, achieving UHC is not a sole achievement of BPJS Kesehatan, but the result of close cooperation with local governments committed to guaranteeing their citizens' well-being through health access.
During the meeting, both parties also discussed strategies to increase participant compliance in paying contributions and optimize services in health facilities. Mayor Hadianto Rasyid emphasized the importance of information transparency and responsive services so that the benefits of JKN can be felt equally and with high quality across all levels of society.
In closing, both parties agreed to continue strengthening cross-sectoral communication. This step is expected to not only maintain the program's financial sustainability but also ensure that every citizen of Palu City gains easy access to fast and excellent healthcare services in the future.
