After remaining silent for quite some time, singer Sarwendah has finally issued an official clarification regarding the negative rumors surrounding her. The former Cherrybelle member was accused of being involved in pesugihan rituals at Mount Kawi, Malang, East Java, which had recently sparked intense discussion on social media.
The accusation emerged after a video clip circulated showing an interview by Red Magician (Pesulap Merah) with a source claiming to be the caretaker of the location. In their statement, the source named Sarwendah as someone who frequently performed rituals there. These rumors were further fueled by documentation of Sarwendah's visit to the site, which was subsequently misinterpreted by netizens.
During a live broadcast on social media alongside Jordi Onsu, Sarwendah firmly denied the narrative threatening her reputation. She stated that her visit to Mount Kawi at the time was not to perform mystical rituals or meet with shamans, but purely for content production needs.
Sarwendah explained that her presence at the site was related to filming for the program 'Kakak Beradik Podcast'. She hopes this clarification clears up the public misunderstanding and urges the public to be more discerning when consuming unverified information before jumping to conclusions.
