BPJS Kesehatan continues its efforts to expand the reach of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program to the farthest corners of the country. Through the Layanan Ujung Negeri (LANURI) initiative, the agency provides administrative services that are more accessible to communities living in frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) regions. This tactical step was taken to overcome geographical hurdles and infrastructure limitations that have historically hindered access to healthcare services.

President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, explained that the program relies on two main pillars: the Virtual Office for Information and Administrative Services (VIOLA) and proactive outreach via BPJS Keliling (Mobile BPJS). VIOLA is an interactive video conference-based non-face-to-face platform connecting residents in remote areas directly with officers in real-time to manage membership administration, obtain information, and file complaints.

Throughout the January to May 2026 period, the effectiveness of the VIOLA service was demonstrated by recording 218,729 utilization instances. The majority of access occurred through Community Health Centers (Puskesmas), with the most sought-after service being data updates for First-Level Health Facilities (FKTP). The primary users of this digital innovation were dominated by the Health Insurance Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI JK) segment.

Prihati added that the digital divide and limited data communication networks in several regions are key reasons why face-to-face service options remain necessary. Therefore, BPJS Keliling has been optimized to visit locations with limited tech literacy. This LANURI scheme operates simultaneously in 558 regency/city points across Indonesia through the coordination of 126 BPJS Kesehatan Branch Offices, with 179 points served by BPJS Keliling and 379 other points integrated with VIOLA services.

This progressive move received full support from the Ministry of Cooperatives. Deputy for Cooperative Business Development, Panel Barus, assessed this breakthrough as crucial for citizens hindered by transportation issues and internet connectivity. His team is committed to ensuring the success of the LANURI program by collaborating with the Merah Putih Village Cooperative network spread down to the village level to facilitate internet infrastructure needs on the ground.
