The Banda Aceh City Government, through the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), is actively exploring various economic cooperation opportunities at the 18th National Working Conference (Rakernas) of the Association of Indonesia Municipalities (APEKSI) 2026. This strategic meeting taking place in Medan serves as a platform for regional policymakers to strengthen investment collaboration.
In the event titled Ice-Business Meeting and Matching, delegates from various cities across Indonesia discussed strategic transformations in attracting investors. One crucial point raised was the urgency for local governments to create an independent investment ecosystem, where regions must become magnets for investors through infrastructure readiness and regulatory ease.
The forum also presented international perspectives, including discussions on trade potential with the Government of Catalonia, Spain, as well as integrating the role of media as a catalyst for regional investment promotion. The session provided space for city government representatives to network with various national and global development partners.
Head of DPMPTSP Banda Aceh City, M. Ichsan, revealed that the region's participation in this forum is a concrete step to learn innovative investment patterns. According to him, the experience and insights gained from expert practitioners will be adapted to enhance Banda Aceh City's competitiveness in the future.
Ichsan emphasized that his agency aims for this participation to open new business opportunities with a direct impact on sustainable development in Banda Aceh. It is hoped that strengthening networks and fostering a healthy investment climate will accelerate local economic growth and deliver tangible benefits to public welfare.
