The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reported that the online lending (Pindar) industry in Indonesia continues to record positive growth. As of May 2026, the industry's total outstanding financing successfully broke the IDR 103.73 trillion mark, an increase compared to the previous month's position of IDR 102.07 trillion.

Agusman, Executive Head of PVML Supervision at OJK, revealed during the Monthly Board of Commissioners Meeting that this figure reflects a year-on-year growth of 25.60%. However, this pace of expansion shows a slight slowdown compared to April 2026, which recorded a growth rate of 26.11%.

On the other hand, the industry's credit quality showed encouraging signs of improvement. The OJK noted that the 90-day default ratio (TWP90) currently stands at 4.42%, improving from the previous month's ratio of 4.62%. This serves as a positive indicator amidst the dynamics of continuously increasing loan disbursements.

Regarding regulatory compliance, the OJK also continues to oversee the fulfillment of minimum equity requirements for Pindar operators. Currently, eight out of a total of 94 operators have yet to meet the minimum capital requirement of IDR 12.5 billion. This count represents significant progress compared to the previous month, when 14 companies had not yet met the capital standard.
