Welcoming the Islamic New Year of 1 Muharram, residents in Sendang District, Tulungagung Regency, held various cultural art events. To ensure all event series ran conducively and provided a sense of security for residents, the Sendang Police officers deployed directly to carry out strict security measures across several performance locations.
Security was focused on two folk art events taking place on Thursday (2/7/2026) night. First was the Bantengan and "Satrio Lembu Suro" Creative Jaranan performance held at a resident's home in Badong Hamlet, Nglutung Village. Simultaneously, police personnel also escorted the "Kudo Kuncoro" Jaranan Jowo performance held in Jengglik Hamlet, Sendang Village.
Sendang Police Chief, Police Commissioner Attendant (AKP) Daroji, emphasized that the presence of officers among the public manifests the Indonesian National Police's (Polri) support for preserving local culture. His side is committed to always being present at every large-gathering event so that potential security and public order disruptions can be minimized as early as possible.
During implementation, field officers monitored stage areas and actively managed traffic flow surrounding event locations. Additionally, intensive collaboration was carried out with the organizing committee and local community leaders to ensure the event proceeded orderly.
"Synergy among Polri, the committee, and all elements of society is the main key to creating a conducive situation. We strongly support efforts to preserve this ancestral heritage art so future generations continue to cherish it, provided all parties maintain public order together," concluded AKP Daroji.
Thanks to solid coordination and police presence, the entire traditional art agenda was successfully completed safely and smoothly, providing a momentum for residents to celebrate 1 Muharram solemnly and joyfully.
