The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Wibowo, emphasized that addressing traffic issues in Indonesia requires the active involvement of all elements of the nation. For him, traffic is not merely road mobility, but a representation of societal culture and a key indicator of a country's level of modernization.
In his official statement on Wednesday (8/7), Inspector General Wibowo highlighted two crucial factors predicted to transform the future landscape of road safety and security: the demographic bonus phenomenon and the accelerated advancement of technology. Both demand a traffic management system that is more adaptive, responsive, and integrated.
However, these challenges are still hampered by low public awareness of traffic rules. Violations such as driving against the flow of traffic remain a serious concern as they pose a high risk of triggering accidents and disrupting public order.
Responding to increasingly high mobility dynamics, Inspector General Wibowo stated that the police continue to strive for digital transformation in public services. He stressed that future traffic service systems must be able to offer ease of access and efficiency for the public without compromising strict security standards.
