At the peak event of The 5th Indonesia DEI & ESG Awards (IDEAS) 2026 held in Jakarta, Founder & Director of Infinity Continuity, Gary Ng, highlighted the urgency of aligning Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework. According to him, an organization's commitment should not merely be an administrative display, but must be proven when facing emergency situations.

Gary explained that the resilience of an organization in the modern era, which is frequently hit by challenges ranging from natural disasters to artificial intelligence disruption, heavily relies on how the organization's values are maintained. The focus of BCM has now shifted; it is no longer just about recovering technical operations, but also about protecting human resources, ensuring continuous services, and maintaining stakeholder trust.

Data from the 2025 Business Continuity Institute (BCI) white paper serves as an important note, revealing that only 13 percent of organizations have currently integrated DEI into their business continuity plans. In fact, around 50 percent of respondents believe that team diversity significantly strengthens organizational resilience when facing crisis pressures.

Concluding his presentation, Gary emphasized that ESG serves to reflect core values, while DEI proves the organization's respect for human dignity. Business continuity becomes the ultimate benchmark of whether these commitments remain relevant when an organization is under immense pressure. Proactive readiness and transparent communication remain key for organizations to survive and continue earning public trust amid uncertainty.
