The Rahtawu Village area, located in Gebog District, Kudus Regency, is currently preparing to welcome thousands of runners from various parts of the country. The natural track stretching across the slopes of Mount Muria offers a unique combination of challenging uphill trails and the cool atmosphere of mountain forests, making it a prime destination for trail running enthusiasts.
As a preparatory step towards the main event in August 2026, the committee held the Road to Muria Trail Run series at Jatidiri Stadium, Semarang, last weekend. This warm-up activity was attended by around 100 runners from 13 different communities, which also served as an event to socialize the route and the race concept to be carried out.
The Regional Secretary of Central Java, Sumarno, who was present at the event, highly appreciated the development of nature-based sport tourism. According to him, utilizing the mountainous landscape of Central Java for sports events is a strategic step to attract tourists while boosting the local economy in each region.
Furthermore, the organizer of the Muria Trail Run 2026, Yuda Kristiawan, emphasized that this event carries the concept of Eco Green Sport Tourism with the spirit of 'Stride for Sustainability'. Through this approach, participants are not only physically challenged but also invited to actively contribute to ecosystem preservation and community empowerment around the slopes of Mount Muria.
