PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) has officially strengthened its eco-friendly vehicle lineup by launching the Mitsubishi XForce HEV. As the top variant, this compact SUV not only brings a refreshed appearance, but also incorporates second-generation hybrid technology designed for more optimal driving efficiency.

The main attraction of this latest hybrid system lies in its fuel consumption efficiency. Based on the manufacturer's internal tests, the collaboration between the conventional engine and the electric motor in this vehicle is claimed to be capable of traveling up to 1,172 kilometers with a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery.

Under the hood, the XForce HEV relies on a 1,600 cc 4-cylinder MIVEC DOHC gasoline engine coded 4A92 with Atkinson Cycle technology. This engine produces 106 hp and 134 Nm of torque. Its performance is supported by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor type electric motor capable of delivering instant power of 114 hp with an abundant torque of 255 Nm right from the start.

Adopting a series-parallel hybrid system delivered through a 2-speed automatic dog clutch transmission to the front wheels, this car offers high flexibility. A 1.1 kWh battery allows drivers to utilize full EV mode at low speeds. In congested urban areas, the gasoline engine will act more actively as a charging generator, while both power sources will work simultaneously when cruising at high speeds to maintain fuel efficiency.

Compared to its conventional petrol version with a 1,500 cc engine, this hybrid variant offers a much more instant acceleration response thanks to the torque support from the electric motor. The Mitsubishi XForce HEV is currently marketed for Indonesian consumers at a price of IDR 445 million (On The Road Jakarta), making it an attractive option for people who want to switch to electrification without having to worry about the limitations of electric charging infrastructure.
