Vietnam's agricultural sector is now entering a crucial transformation phase. In an evaluation conference on the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, President To Lam emphasized that scientific and technological innovation is no longer an abstract concept confined to laboratories. Instead, technology must be directly integrated into the pulse of daily life, from rice cultivation and the management of local specialty commodities (OCOP) to global supply chains.

The implementation of this policy aims to address the challenges of increasingly fierce international market competition. The Hao Dat Tea Cooperative in Thai Nguyen serves as a successful example of this implementation. By utilizing digital technology for production management and data transparency, the cooperative has significantly improved product quality while meeting the strict standards of export markets that demand information traceability.

Although many commodities such as coffee and rice have successfully penetrated world markets, major challenges remain. A large portion of Vietnam's agricultural products are still exported in raw form with low added value. Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Nguyen Nhu Cuong, stressed that digitalization is not merely about using software, but rather an effort to restructure the production process to make it more precise, efficient, and environmentally friendly.

In addition to digitalization, the development of a circular economy and the optimization of post-harvest technology serve as key foundations for increasing efficiency. This strategy is expected to minimize production costs, reduce environmental impact, and boost the bargaining power of products in the global market. This transformation requires a mindset shift among stakeholders to move from a quantity-oriented model to a value-based and sustainable model.
