Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, together with the Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., officially opened the ITB Museum on Friday (3/7/2026). Located in the Sasana Budaya Ganesha (Sabuga) Building area, this inauguration marks an important momentum in the series of celebrations honoring 106 years of engineering higher education in the country.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by a ribbon-cutting procession led by the Rector of ITB alongside several prominent figures, including Sinta Wahid, Dato' Low Tuck Kwong, Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Yani Panigoro, Subakat Hadi, and artist Nyoman Nuarta. The presence of this museum is expected to serve as a platform integrating history, science, technology, and humanities that have developed for over a century within the ITB environment.
More than just a storage facility for artifacts, the ITB Museum is designed as a space for reflection and inspiration connecting past narratives with future innovation needs. The collection presented serves as a reflection of ITB's contribution to shaping national technological civilization through an interdisciplinary approach initiated by a founding board of leading experts and academics.
The museum is now open to the public, including members of the academic community, researchers, and the general public.
