The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) projects that the market value of sportswear in Indonesia will experience a significant surge, reaching Rp58.6 trillion by 2030. The annual growth of this sector is estimated to remain stable at around 9 percent, driven by public healthy lifestyle trends as well as the increasing quality of increasingly competitive local products.

Deputy Minister of Industry, Faisol Riza, explained that the national sportswear market value in 2025 has reached Rp38.5 trillion, growing by about 8 percent compared to the previous year. This optimistic data refers to a report from Euromonitor International released in February 2026. The government encourages domestic industrial players, especially Small and Medium Industries (IKM), to capitalize on this highly promising market growth momentum.

One tangible proof of the local industry's prowess is the success of the domestic sportswear brand, Speed, which is now trusted as the official kit provider for the Indonesian National Volleyball Team. This step is seen as proof that homegrown products have premium quality capable of meeting the standards of professional athletes, while also serving as an inspiration for other local brands to dominate the domestic market and prepare for expansion into the global arena.

This positive growth is also reflected in the export performance of related sectors. Apparel exports were recorded to have increased from US$7.08 billion in 2024 to US$7.27 billion in 2025. The sports equipment sector also recorded export growth of 12 percent from US$274.4 million to US$306.3 million, followed by the cosmetics industry which surged 13.7 percent to US$473.8 million. The Ministry of Industry emphasizes its commitment to continue supporting the strengthening of national industrial competitiveness so that it can contribute more to the country's economy.
