The Padang Municipal Drinking Water Company (Perumda AM) has scheduled routine maintenance in the form of reservoir draining at the Gunung Pangilun Water Treatment Plant (WTP). This technical work is planned to take place on Friday, July 10, 2026, starting at 20:00 WIB until the entire cleaning process is completed.
This maintenance step is part of the company's commitment to maintaining the reliability of the treatment system while ensuring that the quality of clean water distribution is maintained for customers. Management emphasized that this activity is crucial to prevent sediment build-up inside the reservoir.
As a result of this technical activity, water distribution operations in 21 areas within the service coverage of the Gunung Pangilun WTP will be affected. Customers in these areas are expected to experience a drop in water pressure, and the water flow may even temporarily stop during the draining process.
In connection with these conditions, Perumda AM Padang urges all residents in the affected areas to take early precautions. Citizens are advised to store enough water as a backup to meet domestic needs before the technical work begins on Friday evening.
