The Bintan Regency Government (Pemkab) has responded quickly to community complaints regarding road damage in Kampung Banjar, Gunung Kijang Village. The local government assured that the road infrastructure repair project has been included in the budgeting scheme and its discussion is currently being finalized.
This step was taken after local residents previously held a peaceful protest by planting banana trees in the middle of the potholed road. Currently, as an emergency measure before permanent repairs begin, the relevant department has filled the damaged parts of the road with soil to minimize the risk of accidents.
Bintan Regent, Roby Kurniawan, emphasized the local government's commitment to resolving this infrastructure issue. He explained that the specific budget allocation for the Kampung Banjar road is currently in the technical details finalization stage.
"We are currently discussing the budget details for the road repair at that location in depth. What is clear is that we have prepared the budget, and we are striving to start the work as soon as possible," Roby said during an official statement.
With this budget certainty, the Bintan Regency Government hopes that public transportation access in Gunung Kijang Village can soon return to normal. This tactical step is also expected to improve driving safety aspects while addressing the development demands voiced by residents.
