President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/7). The meeting resulted in crucial agreements to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries, with a primary focus on political, defense, and security sectors, as well as mastering future technologies.
In his official statement, President Prabowo emphasized that the discussions were intensive and productive, with a strategic orientation to address future global challenges. Both leaders committed to increasing the frequency of high-level diplomatic visits to enhance inter-agency coordination, including through the involvement of think tanks and parliaments from both nations.
On defense and security aspects, both countries agreed to reinforce cooperation in combating terrorism. This synergy will be realized more concretely through the third edition of the *India-Indonesia Security Dialogue*, designed to deepen collaboration in tackling transnational security threats.
In addition to defense, the technology sector was a major highlight of the meeting. President Prabowo stated that Indonesia and India will deepen capacity-building collaboration in cutting-edge technology. This includes building more resilient digital infrastructure and joint efforts to combat various forms of transnational cybercrime.
