The Pekanbaru City Government (Pemko Pekanbaru) officially launched the Free Health Check (CKG) program on campus by visiting Hangtuah University on Thursday (9/7/2026). This health service activity was enthusiastically welcomed by hundreds of members of the academic community who attended to check their physical condition.

Deputy Mayor of Pekanbaru, Markarius Anwar, who officially opened the agenda, emphasized that this initiative represents a maiden collaborative step between the city government and higher education institutions. He expressed his commitment to expanding the reach of similar services to all universities in Pekanbaru as a preventive health effort for the campus community.

According to Markarius, health screening as early as possible is a vital key to anticipating the onset of serious disease complications. Through early detection, medical treatment can be carried out faster so that the health quality of students and teaching staff can be better monitored.

The Pekanbaru City Government hopes that this synergy will not merely be a ceremonial event, but a sustainable agenda. The optimization of the CKG program in the university environment is expected to accelerate the achievement of broad public health targets in Pekanbaru City.
