The Acting Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Muklisin, officially opened the Pacu Jalur Rayon IV cultural festival held in Gunung Toar District. The presence of the regional leader was warmly welcomed by thousands of residents who packed the event location to watch the traditional boat race.
The opening of this traditional competition was lively, featuring participation from various top-tier "jalur" (boats) representing several regions. Muklisin's presence not only marked the official start of the race but also served as an important moment to greet and converse directly with the community members who are enthusiastic about preserving local traditions.
Pacu Jalur itself is one of the intangible cultural heritages that the people of Kuantan Singingi take great pride in, held annually. Through this fourth district event in Gunung Toar, the local government hopes that the values of sportsmanship, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and regional tourism can continue to be enhanced for the welfare of the local community.
