President Prabowo Subianto delivered encouraging news regarding Indonesia's natural wealth. During his working visit to Karawang, West Java, on Thursday (9/7/2026), the President revealed that an inter-agency expedition team led by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) had discovered large-scale reserves of gold and strategic minerals in the mountainous region of Papua.

This discovery was obtained through intensive research collaboration involving various universities, supported by security provided by the TNI. The scientific expedition project, which has only been running for two to three weeks, provides a positive signal for the future prospects of national natural resources, supplementing coal reserves that are currently still abundantly available.

In his speech during the launch of the B50 mandatory program, President Prabowo emphasized that this discovery must serve as a spark for national optimism. According to him, this vast potential of natural wealth is a valuable asset that must be managed wisely for the prosperity of the people and the sustainability of the nation.

In addition to highlighting the potential mineral wealth, the President also emphasized the importance of integrity in governance. He called for decisive action to eradicate various harmful practices such as corruption, smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and online gambling to ensure that Indonesia's future remains well-safeguarded and progressive.
