PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk has stated its commitment to continue business expansion in the third quarter of 2026. This step is taken despite the company's awareness of the looming global economic uncertainty, the weakening of the rupiah exchange rate, and pressure on public purchasing power, which remain serious concerns for the banking industry.

President Director of Bank Muamalat, Imam Teguh Saptono, emphasized that the company is implementing a more selective and sustainable growth strategy. Imam assessed that although the Indonesian economy remains on a positive track, a prudent approach is key amidst international financial market volatility and escalating geopolitical conflicts.

Regarding the pressure on the rupiah exchange rate, Imam explained that the impact on Bank Muamalat is relatively contained because the company's business focus relies on domestic real sector financing. He added that Indonesia's economic resilience is currently still supported by strong household consumption and banking sector stability, although vigilance is required regarding rising logistics costs due to energy price fluctuations.

Highlighting government support, Imam underlined the importance of fiscal spending effectiveness and targeted economic stimulus for the MSME sector. According to him, regulatory certainty is a crucial factor expected by business actors to keep the investment climate conducive, transcending domestic political dynamics.

To maintain performance in the second half of 2026, Bank Muamalat will focus its financing distribution on the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem, retail, community, and MSME empowerment. This approach is the company's effort to ensure that every expansion step taken not only pursues growth volume but also prioritizes quality risk management to maintain long-term stability.
