The Regent of Solok, Dr. (HC) Jon Firman Pandu, SH, conducted a working visit to directly inspect the progress of the revitalization project at SMPN 3 Gunung Talang, Koto Gadang Guguak, on Wednesday (29/7/2026). This inspection was carried out to ensure that all the new educational facilities can be used by students and educators immediately.
During his visit, the Regent was accompanied by the Head of the Education, Youth, and Sports Agency (Disdikpora) of Solok Regency, Elafki, and the Head of the Development Department, Afrianto. The arrival of the local government delegation was warmly welcomed by the Principal of SMPN 3 Gunung Talang, Rossydiana, along with the teaching staff.
Rossydiana explained that this revitalization project includes a total renovation of 20 classrooms with a budget allocation reaching IDR 3.8 billion. Currently, the physical construction of the building is nearly completed and is preparing for the handover process. In fact, new supporting facilities or furniture have already begun to be utilized in several classrooms.
Responding to this progress, Regent Jon Firman Pandu hopes that this school infrastructure improvement can trigger a new spirit in the teaching and learning process. During the inspection, the Regent also visited the classrooms to personally greet and motivate the students.
He advised the students to always maintain cleanliness and take care of the renovated school facilities. He also emphasized the importance of studying diligently and respecting teachers and parents as the key to success. It is hoped that the improvement of these facilities can create a safe, comfortable, and quality learning environment in Solok Regency.
