The Badung Regency Government, through the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), will soon launch spot checks (sidak) on various nightlife venues (THM) scattered across the Kuta, South Kuta, and North Kuta areas. This step is being taken to enforce regulations and ensure that every business unit operates in accordance with their licensing documents.
The Head of Badung Satpol PP, I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara, explained that his team will directly review administrative documents, ranging from operational permits and building function zoning to alcohol sales licenses. This check aims to mitigate the misuse of building functions, such as restaurants converting into entertainment venues without valid permits.
Suryanegara emphasized that his office will not tolerate administrative violations in the field. Strict sanctions have been prepared for businesses proven to violate the provisions, ranging from written warnings and temporary suspension of operations to the permanent closure of the business, depending on the severity of the violation found.
This enforcement plan is also in response to various public complaints regarding public order disturbances at several nightlife spots, particularly in the Tibubeneng Village area, North Kuta. Recently, the location came under public spotlight due to a brawl involving foreign nationals, the handling of which is currently being coordinated with the police, immigration, and other relevant agencies.
