Perum Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) of Kedu Utara expressed its strong commitment to supporting the national-level sports tourism event, Merbabu Trail Run 2026. This support was reaffirmed through active participation in a preparatory coordination meeting held at Sunsetfalls Gardens and Resort on Monday (6/7).
The strategic meeting involved various stakeholders, ranging from the Forkopimca of Ngablak, the Mount Merbabu National Park Office, to private entities such as PT Palawi Risorsis and local community leaders. This cross-sectoral synergy is key to ensuring the trail running event runs smoothly, safely, and delivers a significant impact on local tourism.
Merbabu Trail Run 2026 is projected to be a prestigious event offering unique terrain challenges. Participants will traverse a route crossing two mountains simultaneously, namely Mount Merbabu and Mount Andong, showcasing the captivating forest and hill panoramas characteristic of Central Java.
The Administrator of KPH Kedu Utara, Andrie Syailendra, emphasized that Perhutani's involvement is a concrete form of support for optimizing forest areas for positive activities. According to him, this event is not just a sports competition, but also a strategic instrument to promote natural tourism destinations while driving the economy of communities surrounding the forest area.
The organizers, represented by Didi Febri Handoko, expressed high appreciation for the collaboration. This synergy is expected to serve as a strong foundation for Merbabu Trail Run 2026 to transform into a sustainable flagship sports tourism agenda that brings real benefits to environmental conservation and the economic empowerment of local communities.
