PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk reaffirmed its full commitment to aligning the company's business direction with President Prabowo's administration priority programs to accelerate national economic growth. BRI Group CEO Hery Gunardi stated that the company leverages its extensive branch network and the BRILink service ecosystem, reaching remote areas across the archipelago, as an engine for grassroots economic growth.
In response to the dynamics of the BI Rate benchmark interest rate standing at 5.75%, BRI applies strict risk management. Although the disbursement of People's Business Credit (KUR) uses a fixed interest rate scheme, the company continues to maintain its credit portfolio quality by optimizing sectors with stable growth prospects.
To ensure long-term sustainability, BRI is intensifying its operational transformation program through the 'BRIvolution Reignite' initiative. This transformation focuses on cost of fund and cost of credit efficiency, while simultaneously strengthening the digital ecosystem via the BRImo application and enhancing service infrastructure across various branch offices.
In addition to solidifying its micro-business base, BRI is now diversifying its segments to enter urban markets and high-net-worth clients. This rebranding effort aims to establish BRI's position not merely as a rural bank, but as a comprehensive financial entity capable of serving all levels of society through consumer banking to private banking services.
Regarding corporate policy, BRI management has also announced a plan for a share buyback worth up to IDR 500 billion. Scheduled to take place between June 12 and September 11, 2026, this corporate action will utilize internal cash as a strategic measure to respond to current stock market conditions.
