The Padang City Government continues to tighten supervision over nightlife activities to maintain public order. In a joint justice operation conducted by the Padang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) together with the TNI Military Police (PM) and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) on Sunday morning (26/7/2026), several nightlife venues were targeted for intensive inspection.
During the raid, officers detained nine visitors who were found not carrying identification cards. The nine administrative rule violators consisted of five women and four men.
Head of the Operations and Control Section (Kasi Opsdal) of the Padang City Satpol PP, Harvi Dasnoer, explained that the operation focused on checking visitors' identification cards as well as the compliance of nightlife business owners with local regulations. The enforced rules refer to the Padang City Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 1 of 2025 concerning Public Peace and Order.
The visitors caught in the raid were immediately taken to the Headquarters (Mako) of the Padang City Satpol PP. They were handed over to Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS) for data recording and further examination in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Padang City Satpol PP, Chandra Eka Putra, emphasized that similar raids will continue to be carried out routinely and periodically. He also appealed to all levels of society to always carry identification cards when traveling to maintain a safe, conducive, and orderly situation in the city.
