PT Timah (Persero) Tbk has once again fulfilled its social responsibility commitment by providing renovation assistance for the Integrated Healthcare Center (Posyandu) in Berok Village, Koba District, Central Bangka Regency. This step was taken as a concrete effort by the company to improve the quality of basic health infrastructure for communities in its operational areas.
Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the improvement of these facilities is expected to optimize monthly routine health services. The main focus of this program is to ensure comfort for vulnerable groups, namely pregnant women and toddlers, when accessing health services at the local posyandu.
A representative of the Berok Village Government, Afif Fauzi, welcomed the assistance positively. He explained that the condition of the posyandu building was previously alarming, with a leaking roof and collapsed ceiling. This damage had been a serious obstacle in providing adequate health services to residents.
The village administration is committed to immediately utilizing the assistance so that health services can resume at maximum capacity in a more presentable environment. With the renovated building, it is hoped that community participation in monthly health programs in Berok Village will increase, ensuring the health status of mothers and children in the area is maintained.
This program is part of the company's Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) pillar, targeting crucial sectors ranging from healthcare and education to local community economic empowerment. PT Timah emphasized that it will continue to play an active role in delivering tangible benefits for the welfare of residents in Bangka Belitung.
