KUTA - The Kuta Sector Police (Polsek Kuta) tightened security in several tourist areas and nightlife centers through an operation dubbed "Blue Light Patrol" on Friday (31/7/2026) night. This step was taken to ensure public order and security (kamtibmas) in one of the main tourist destinations on the Island of the Gods remains conducive.
Led by Supervising Officer (Pawas) Police Inspector Second Class (Iptu) I Ketut Ngurah Sukarja, the joint personnel swept various spots deemed prone to security disturbances. Special surveillance was also directed at the Sunset Road route to the Kedonganan Bypass to anticipate illegal street racing, which is often carried out by groups of teenagers from night until the early hours of the morning.
In addition to monitoring the main roads, officers also conducted dialogic patrols by visiting residential areas, shopping zones, automated teller machines (ATMs), and nightlife venues. During the occasion, the police interacted directly with residents and tourists to convey security messages, urging them to always remain vigilant about their belongings and to increase awareness of their surroundings.
Head of Public Relations of Denpasar Police, Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, explained that the night-to-dawn operation focused on preventing "3C" crimes (burglary, robbery, and vehicle theft), illicit alcohol distribution, weapon abuse, and the use of noisy exhausts that disturb public comfort.
The police stated that throughout the implementation of the patrol, the security situation in the jurisdiction of the Kuta Police was observed to be safe and controlled, with no reports of prominent crimes or illegal street racing. This consistent preventive patrol is expected to continue providing a sense of safety and comfort for tourists and local communities in their activities.
