The Sorong City Government held a Key Stakeholder Forum to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Program. The event, which took place in the Anggrek Meeting Room at the Sorong Mayor's Office on Tuesday (4/8/2026), was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Sorong, H. Anshar Karim.
This strategic meeting was also attended by the Acting (Plt.) Regional Secretary of Sorong City, Ruddy R. Laku, Assistant II for Economics and Development, H. Thamrin Tajuddin, and the Head of the Legal Division of the Sorong City Regional Secretariat, Ludwig C. A. Malaseme. Also present at the forum were the leadership of related Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) and representatives from the Sorong Branch of BPJS Kesehatan.
In his directive, the Deputy Mayor of Sorong emphasized that the government is fully committed to prioritizing health protection for vulnerable and low-income community groups. He stressed that economic status must not be a barrier for citizens to obtain proper medical services. The state's presence through the BPJS Kesehatan program is considered a crucial solution in overcoming gaps in healthcare access within the community.
As a concrete step to improve data accuracy, the event continued with the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) regarding the provision of JKN membership status information. This agreement was jointly signed by the Deputy Mayor of Sorong along with related regional officials, before continuing with an interactive discussion session to formulate evaluation steps to ensure the health insurance program runs on target.
