The National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) East Java has officially integrated a sport intelligence approach into its high-performance sports development system. This strategic move was taken as a modernization effort in the decision-making process, ranging from athlete recruitment to more accurate tactic formulation ahead of competitions.

Chairman of East Java KONI, M. Nabil, emphasized that sport intelligence is not merely a tool for collecting information. More than that, the system serves as a methodological foundation for comprehensively managing athlete data so that organizational policies are truly oriented toward improving performance quality on the field.

"The utilization of sports intelligence serves as a crucial framework for data extraction and management. The ultimate goal is clear: to convert all processed data into success and medals for athletes in competitions," Nabil told reporters on Tuesday (7/7/2026).

Nabil added that the effectiveness of a sports organization is not judged solely by its internal administrative neatness. The main parameter of success in athlete development remains grounded in tangible results or achievements earned by athletes in the competition arena, making the application of technology and data an absolute necessity in today's sports landscape.
