A group of Field Learning Practice (PBL) I students from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM), Hasanuddin University (Unhas), officially began their community service program by holding an Opening Seminar at the Macorawalie Village Office, Panca Rijang Subdistrict, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, on Monday (6/7).
The activity, which runs until July 16, focuses on strengthening synergy between academics, the subdistrict government, and elements of the local community. The PBL I Post Coordinator, Muh. Imam Arief Asshiddiq, stated that this seminar stage is a crucial foundation for mapping health challenges on the ground. According to him, the accurate collection of primary and secondary data serves as a key instrument in formulating target-oriented and solution-focused health policy recommendations for residents.
During the observation period, the students will go directly into the field to interact with community leaders and local health facilities. This participatory approach is expected to produce a comprehensive health profile of the area, ensuring that planned interventions align with the real needs of the Macorawalie community.
The Head of Macorawalie Village, Arwang SE, expressed high appreciation for the Unhas students' initiative. He emphasized that cross-sector collaboration is the main key to accelerating health development at the village level. Full support from the local village administration is expected to facilitate the problem identification process and the implementation of the students' work program over the next two weeks.
