Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, stated that Indonesia must not remain merely a consumer of technology. According to him, the nation must be able to make a strategic leap into the technology development value chain, particularly in the artificial intelligence sector and today's rapidly growing digital ecosystem.
As a concrete step, the government is now focusing on intensive collaboration with higher education institutions as centers for innovation development. Through initiatives such as the AI Talent Factory program, Kemkomdigi seeks to expand training access for the younger generation to gain both technical readiness and a deep understanding of the international tech geopolitical landscape.
This strategy is designed to create an ecosystem that bridges the gap between industry needs and national talent capacity. By equipping the Indonesian workforce with adaptive education and training, the government is optimistic about boosting national competitiveness to remain relevant in facing changes in the global digital economic structure.
