The Government of Duampanua Sub-district, Pinrang Regency, held an introductory training on appropriate technology for farmers in Bungi Village on Thursday (9/6/2026). This strategic activity serves as a coordination forum to strengthen synergy between the sub-district government, village officials, and agricultural sector stakeholders in facing food production challenges.
The Head of Duampanua Sub-district, Andi Satriadin AS, in his direction, emphasized the importance of clean village governance. He asserted that all village fund management, including the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes), must be carried out with integrity and properly targeted. Additionally, the Sub-district Head highlighted the shifting trend in seed procurement, which is now widely conducted online, while urging farmers to be more selective in choosing seed quality to ensure harvest security.
On the other hand, the Agriculture Officer of Duampanua Sub-district, Abu Daud, reminded all parties to manage the agricultural budget allocation effectively. This aims to ensure that every government assistance provides a tangible and sustainable impact on the welfare of farmers on the ground.
The Head of Bungi Village, Muhammad Nur Alam, conveyed the urgency of strengthening farmers' institutional structures by appointing the Chairperson of the Association of Farmer Groups (Gapoktan) as a field coordinator. He also raised urgent concerns regarding the condition of irrigation infrastructure, noting that three pumping facility points are currently non-functional.
The damaged condition of these irrigation facilities is acknowledged as a major obstacle for farmers, especially during the dry season. The Bungi Village Government hopes for intervention and greater attention from relevant agencies to immediately repair the infrastructure so that local agricultural productivity can be maintained.
