Representing the Regent of North Barito, the Assistant for General Administration of the Regional Secretariat of North Barito, Annisa Cahyawati, attended the inauguration of the Regional Governing Board (DPD) and the Commissariat Governing Board (DPK) of the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) of North Barito for the 2026–2031 period. The event, which took place at the Balai Antang Building, Muara Teweh, became an important momentum to strengthen the role of nurses as strategic partners of the local government.

In the written remarks of Regent Shalahuddin read by Annisa, the local government emphasized that the nursing profession plays a very crucial role. Nurses are not only responsible for providing medical procedures in health facilities, but are also active in educating the public through promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services.

For this reason, the new PPNI management is expected to be a forum for improving the competence and professionalism of its members. PPNI is also requested to continue to simplify professional administration services, including facilitating the management of Registration Certificates (STR) and Nurse Practice Licenses (SIPP) in a responsive and transparent manner.

Furthermore, solid synergy between PPNI, local governments, hospitals, and community health centers (puskesmas) is considered the main key to providing fair and equitable health services for all people in North Barito. The local government also expressed its deep appreciation to the board of the previous period for their dedication so far.
