The Regency Government of Gunung Mas, Central Kalimantan, along with the local Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), has finalized discussions and agreed on three Draft Regional Regulations (Raperda) during a plenary session in Kuala Kurun on Monday (6/7/2026). The three regulations focus on the accountability of the 2025 regional budget (APBD), the management of regional assets, and the empowerment of micro-businesses and the creative economy sectors.
The Regent of Gunung Mas, Jaya S. Monong, emphasized that this approval is an important milestone for the local government in running a transparent and accountable administration. According to him, this agreement provides a solid legal foundation to ensure that budget execution runs effectively to improve the welfare of the community in the Bumi Habangkalan Penyang Karuhei Tatau region.
Furthermore, the drafts of the three regulations will be immediately sent to the Governor of Central Kalimantan for further evaluation. This step is taken as a mandatory procedure before the policies are officially enacted into Regional Regulations (Perda) effective at the regency level.
During the deliberation process, the Budget Committee (Banggar) of the Gunung Mas DPRD stated that it had conducted an in-depth verification of the 2025 APBD accountability report. The spokesperson for Banggar, Yulius Agau, mentioned that this step is a form of legislative oversight to ensure that all government work programs remain aligned with the real needs of the community.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Regional Regulation Draft Council (Bapemperda), Iceu Purnamasari, explained that the substance of the draft regulations regarding regional asset management and creative economy empowerment has been adjusted. These adjustments were made to ensure that every article is aligned with regional authority and national-level laws and regulations.
