The Sidoarjo Regency Government has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public order through sudden inspections (sidak) targeting several areas prone to social vices. The operation, led directly by the Deputy Regent of Sidoarjo, Mimik Idayana, on Saturday night (11/7/2026), involved cross-sectoral collaboration between the Municipal Police (Satpol PP), the military (TNI), the police (Polri), and local sub-district officials.
The law enforcement team swept three strategic areas: the dim-lit cafes (warung remang-remang) area in Mojoruntut Village, Krembung District; the Krengseng area in Krian District; and several karaoke venues in Lebo Village. During the operation, officers detained four women suspected of working as karaoke hostesses and confiscated various alcoholic beverages from premises built on village-owned land.
Mimik Idayana indicated that information had leaked before officers arrived, leaving some targeted spots empty. Nevertheless, she emphasized that the government would not stop there. She ordered the demolition of misused illegal structures and requested that village assets be managed with transparent administration to make a tangible contribution to regional revenue.
Furthermore, the Deputy Regent highlighted a strategic plan to repurpose the misused land into more productive and beneficial areas, such as green open spaces or city parks. This decisive action is taken as a continuous effort to minimize prostitution, gambling, and the distribution of alcoholic beverages to create a clean and comfortable Sidoarjo for all its residents.
