Regional Secretary of South Sulawesi Province, Jufri Rahman, alongside the Chairperson of the South Sulawesi Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), Melani Simon Jufri, conducted a direct inspection of the free health services held at Hasanuddin Field, Makassar, on Saturday (11/07/2026). This program is a strategic collaboration between the South Sulawesi Provincial Government and the Makassar City Government to commemorate the 54th PKK Unity Movement Day (HKG PKK) as well as the 46th anniversary of Dekranas.
These medical services were integrated into the "Anti Mager" Healthy Walk agenda, which started in front of the South Sulawesi Governor's Official Residence. The integration of sports activities and health services aims to ensure citizens not only stay fit through physical activity but also gain access to comprehensive and easily accessible medical check-ups.
Various health services were provided on-site, including HPV vaccination, ear health checks, blood typing tests, blood donation, and nutritional status assessments. Additionally, organizers provided dental and oral examinations, basic laboratory tests, and free eyeglasses distribution for residents in need.
High public enthusiasm was evident from the crowds at service booths starting early in the morning. Tarmiah, a parent of one participant, expressed her appreciation for the easy access to these services, especially for children with special needs fostered by DWP South Sulawesi. Residents hope such social service-based activities will continue to be held sustainably in every major government agenda.
The inspection was also attended by regional and national leaders, including the Governor of South Sulawesi, Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, together with the General Chairperson of Dekranas, Selvi Ananda Rakabuming Raka, and the General Chairperson of TP PKK, Tri Tito Karnavian. The presence of these prominent figures underscores the commitment to cross-institutional collaboration in comprehensively improving public health in South Sulawesi.
