PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari (APL) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Indonesia's healthcare ecosystem through a strategic collaboration with the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM). This step was realized through an official visit by a BPOM delegation to APL's National Distribution Center (NDC) in Cikarang, West Java, recently.
During the visit, the BPOM team supervised APL's distribution facility to ensure company operations align with Good Distribution Practice (CDOB) standards. Beyond regulatory aspects, APL also presented the latest progress on its 2D barcode tracking system, which has become a crucial standard in ensuring the safety of pharmaceutical products in the country.
APL's President Director, Christophe Piganiol, stated that synergy between regulators and industry players is a main pillar in building a credible healthcare system. He added that this visit serves as an important momentum to integrate operational excellence with sustainability principles that have a broad impact on society.
In addition to reviewing distribution aspects, the BPOM delegation had the opportunity to directly observe the use of eco-friendly energy through the Solar Power Plant (PLTS) facility at APL's site. The activity was complemented by a tree-planting action, symbolizing a shared commitment to environmental preservation and creating a greener operational future.
On the other hand, this collaboration also significantly impacts the accessibility of medical innovations. Currently, APL is supporting the distribution of innovative therapies, such as Tirzepatide for type 2 diabetes and obesity. The rapid registration process facilitated by BPOM is seen as greatly aiding patient access to such cutting-edge treatments, while continuing to prioritize safety, quality, and clinical integrity in accordance with national standards.
