BPJS Kesehatan is committed to equalizing access to healthcare services for people across all corners of Indonesia. This was marked by the departure of the Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital (RSKKA) from Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya, heading towards the island regions of Sumenep Regency, Madura, on Sunday (12/7/2026).
President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, emphasized that this initiative is part of the implementation of the 3T JKN program (Outermost, Remote, and Underdeveloped). The floating hospital ship is scheduled to visit several locations that are difficult to reach by permanent healthcare facilities, such as Raas Island, Karamian Island, and Masalembu Island.
Prihati explained that his agency allows the operation of mobile services or mobile clinics in areas that do not yet have adequate healthcare facilities, provided there is coordination and administrative support from local governments. All operational procedures have been strictly prepared to maintain the quality of medical services and the safety of the field team.
Meanwhile, Director of RSK Ksatria Airlangga, Dr. Agus Harianto, added that this humanitarian mission will run for ten days, from July 14 to 24, 2026. His team targets treating a minimum of 100 patients per island, with projections that the total number of patients treated could reach thousands given the high enthusiasm of communities from surrounding islands.
To optimize medical treatment, the assigned team is projected to perform at least five major surgical procedures daily. In addition to major surgeries, the team also caters to various other medical needs, including minor surgeries according to patient conditions and referrals from local healthcare facilities.
