Bengkalis State Polytechnic hosted a talk show titled "Business Legality: A Guarantee for MSMEs to Scale Up" in the Miniconference Room GKT.1 on Friday (July 3, 2026). This activity represents a strategic step by the higher education institution to provide an in-depth understanding of the urgency of legality for small business owners so they can compete and access official capital facilities.
Director of Bengkalis State Polytechnic, Joni Carter, expressed high appreciation for the student initiative. He emphasized that collaboration between the academic sector and local government is crucial in creating a competitive MSME ecosystem. He hopes that this activity is not merely ceremonial, but becomes a sustainable agenda capable of delivering a real impact for local business owners.
This activity is a real implementation of the Business Law course taken by 6th-semester students of the International Business Administration Study Program. As proof of their dedication, the students successfully facilitated the processing of Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and Home Industry Food Production Certificates (SP-PIRT) for 34 MSME entrepreneurs in the Bengkalis region.
Head of the D4 International Business Administration Study Program, Wan Junita Raflah, stated that this success reflects the students' innovation and creativity in developing a business center within the campus environment. The talk show presented experts from the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (PTSP), the Bengkalis Department of Cooperatives and SMEs, as well as academics to dissect solutions for local business challenges.
The event was attended by various strategic stakeholders, ranging from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), the creative economy community (GeKraf), MSME owners, to the GenPi organization. This synergy is expected to make it easier for MSMEs to obtain legal protection and more optimal government services in the future.
