Hundreds of residents of Sidomulyo Hamlet, Sidorejo Village, Ponggok Subdistrict, Blitar Regency, crowded the fishing area on Sunday (26/7/2026) to participate in a free fishing event. This communal event, combined with an electone music entertainment stage, became a recreational magnet for the local community and surrounding areas.

To anticipate potential vulnerabilities and maintain order amidst the crowd concentration, the Ponggok Sector Police (Polsek) stationed their personnel at the location since the beginning of the event. Ponggok Police Chief, Police Commissioner Assistant (AKP) Punjung Setyo Himawan, emphasized that this security measure is a form of police service to guarantee that the entire series of activities runs orderly and smoothly.

The excitement of this folk festival was further enlivened by the provision of various attractive prizes from the committee. A goat was prepared as the grand prize, alongside other consolation prizes such as household appliances and basic food packages. The strains of electone music playing popular songs also successfully entertained the anglers and spectators in attendance.

The Head of Sidomulyo Hamlet expressed appreciation for the presence of the police officers who provided a sense of security to the residents. He considered this positive activity to not only serve as a means of entertainment, but also effective in strengthening harmony and social ties among neighbors.

Until the entire series of events ended, the situation at the location was observed to be safe and orderly without any security disturbances. The police hope that activities prioritizing togetherness like this can continue to be held to foster harmony within the community.
