A stellar achievement was accomplished by the Tangerang City amateur boxing contingent at the VIP Boxing Road to National Sports Week (PON) Martial Arts event. Located at the Way Halim Sports Activity Center (PKOR) in Bandar Lampung, three athletes trained by the Tangerang City Pertina Central Training Center (Puslatcab) successfully brought home gold medals after defeating their opponents across various weight divisions.
Head of the Tangerang City Youth and Sports Office (Dispora), Kaonang, who also serves as Chairman of Tangerang City Pertina, expressed high appreciation for this achievement. He assessed that this success is concrete proof of the effectiveness of the athlete development program in producing boxers with a champion mentality.
The three gold medalists are Zalfaa Haamidah in the women's 54-57 kg division, Yeremias Tloen in the women's 51-54 kg division, and Jefranisco in the men's 60-63 kg division. In addition to the gold achievements, the Tangerang City delegation also managed to secure silver medals through Deo Marcello (men's 48 kg) and Claudia Fiorentina (women's 60 kg), while Arif Maulana successfully contributed a bronze medal in the men's 81 kg division.
The Tangerang City Government now aims to use these positive results as material for strategic evaluation. The government is committed to formulating a more comprehensive development program so that athletes can perform at their peak for the 2026 Martial Arts PON, while nurturing the potential of local athletes to compete on national and international stages.
