The utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) technology is increasingly crucial in supporting the sustainability of the business sector in the modern era. Addressing this challenge, the Faculty of Computer Science at Duta Bangsa University (UDB) Surakarta successfully held the 2026 National Seminar on Information Technology and Business (SENATIB). Carrying the theme of AI synergy for business sustainability in the Society 5.0 era, this academic forum became a strategic platform for academics, practitioners, and industry players to formulate future digital solutions.
Since it was first initiated in 2017, SENATIB has become a routine agenda for UDB Surakarta to strengthen research culture while anticipating the rapid pace of digital transformation. This step underscores the institution's commitment to positioning AI not merely as a tool, but as a main driver of innovation capable of sustainably enhancing global competitiveness.
Held online via the Zoom Meeting platform, this national seminar featured two information technology experts as keynote speakers. Dr. Afu Ichsan Pradana, M.Kom. from UDB Surakarta and Prof. Dr. Ir. R. Rizal Isnanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., IPU, ASEAN Eng. from Diponegoro University presented in-depth analyses on the latest developments in AI. Both speakers highlighted the opportunities of implementing artificial intelligence in boosting operational efficiency and organizational productivity.
Despite the highly promising potential of AI utilization, the speakers also warned of various real challenges that must be faced. The readiness of competent human resources (HR), adherence to ethical aspects of technology, and solid cross-sector collaboration are absolute requirements for the adoption of artificial intelligence to deliver a balanced positive impact on national development.
Public enthusiasm for this digital transformation issue was evident from the high number of participants, reaching 430 attendees. In addition, there were 286 presenters from 20 different institutions—including universities and research institutes across Indonesia—who presented their research findings in parallel sessions. This session is expected to spark new research collaborations capable of solving practical problems in the business world.
Through the success of SENATIB 2026, UDB Surakarta hopes that the research synergy established between institutions can give birth to various technological breakthroughs relevant to society. This initiative is projected to continue expanding the national research network to encourage the creation of a more resilient and competitive Indonesian digital ecosystem on the international stage.
