The Batu City Government has officially opened the grand event, Batu International Sport Tourism Festival (BISTF) 2026. The opening of this sport tourism festival was held festively in the Paragliding Landing Zone area of Gunung Banyak, Batu City, on Friday (31/7/2026). This event is also synergized with the prestigious world-class paragliding championship, the International Paragliding Accuracy Championship (IPAC) 2026 Series 3.
The symbolic opening, marked by pressing a button together, became an important momentum for Batu City. In his speech, the Mayor of Batu emphasized that cross-sector collaboration—especially between the tourism department, education department, and other related agencies—is the key to the success of this international agenda. This synergy is expected to ensure the smooth running of the event while maintaining paragliding safety standards.
Furthermore, this global-scale sport tourism event is not designed solely as a sports competition. The local government projects BISTF 2026 as an effective driver of the local economy. With the increase in foreign and domestic tourist visits, cash flow in Batu City is expected to soar sharply, which will ultimately have a direct positive impact on local MSMEs.
