The search efforts for two teenagers from Krinjing Hamlet, Krinjing Village, Wonosobo Regency, namely Arifin Nurohmat (18) and Yufaidin (15), have finally come to a resolution. Both were found deceased at the bottom of a ravine in the Curug Tiga area on the slopes of Mount Bismo on Sunday (July 12, 2026).

The two victims had previously been reported missing for two weeks while reportedly hiking Mount Bismo. The discovery occurred shortly after the official search operation by the joint SAR team was declared closed. Accidentally, a team from Wanadri conducting a follow-up search in the Sidongkal Block managed to detect the location of the victims at 1:00 PM WIB.

Head of Watumalang District, Arief Hardiyanto, confirmed that the terrain where the victims were found was extremely dangerous, with a ravine depth reaching more than 284 meters. The steep geographical conditions and dense vegetation forced the evacuation team to work extra hard using vertical rescue techniques to bring the bodies to the surface.

The evacuation process, which took hours, faced severe challenges, particularly due to weather conditions and rugged terrain that hampered the movements of the joint team on the ground. Once successfully evacuated, both bodies were immediately brought to the Sembrani Command Post before being transferred to Setjonegoro Regional Hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, the Wonosobo Police Inafis Team immediately conducted identification and further medical examinations on both victims. Currently, the bodies have been handed over to the families for burial following the completion of all identification procedures.
