The Gunung Mas Resort Police (Polres Gunung Mas) continues to reinforce its role in supporting national food security. This strategic step was achieved through this year's successful inaugural corn harvest, serving as a concrete implementation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia's Asta Cita program in the local agricultural sector.
The harvesting process, which took place on Thursday (9/7/2026), involved utilizing productive service land owned by the Gunung Mas Police. A total of seven sacks of harvested corn were immediately secured in the storage warehouse at the Gunung Mas Police Headquarters, Central Kalimantan, for further processing.
This success is the result of close collaboration between police personnel from the Human Resources Division (Bag SDM) and local fostered farmer groups. First Police Inspector (Aiptu) Maraden Siallagan and Second Police Brigadier (Bripda) Dondy served as the driving force accompanying farmers in managing the produce in the field.
After the transfer process, the fostered farmer group took a central role in the post-harvest stage. They meticulously shell and dry the corn to ensure the moisture content of the kernels meets established quality standards. Later, the entire harvest will be distributed to the Bulog Warehouse in Kuala Kurun, Gunung Mas Regency.
Head of Gunung Mas Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant (AKBP) Heru Eko Wibowo, S.I.K., M.H., expressed appreciation for this synergy between police officers and the community. According to him, the program aims not only to achieve food self-sufficiency, but also to empower farmers to be more independent and economically prosperous.
Furthermore, this productive initiative is expected to strengthen emotional bonds between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and civilians in the Kuala Kurun area. Gunung Mas Police is committed to continuously optimizing available service land to ensure sustainable food security and deliver a positive impact on local economic stability.
