Yuki Shafa Maheswari, a student of the Information Technology Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has successfully brought honor to her alma mater on the national stage. Yuki managed to bring home two silver medals at the 2026 Kapolri Cup VII National Taekwondo Championship, which took place at the Kelapa Dua Indoor Stadium, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on July 9–12, 2026.
The prestigious tournament, organized to commemorate the 80th Bhayangkara Day, was attended by 2,098 athletes from various parts of the country. The event featured Kyorugi (sparring) and Poomsae (patterns) categories, serving as a strategic platform for the Indonesian National Police to nurture promising athletic talents while strengthening ties with the public through sports.
In the highly competitive event, Yuki demonstrated her dominance in the Achievement Poomsae category. The class of 2024 student secured second place in two categories simultaneously: Women's Senior Individual Achievement Poomsae and Women's Senior Team Achievement Poomsae. This achievement reflects Yuki's dedication and discipline in refining her technical skills.
This success was highly appreciated by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (DTETI) and the Faculty of Engineering at UGM. Yuki's outstanding achievement is expected to motivate other students to continue developing their potential holistically and dare to compete in various national and international competitions.
