Vice Governor of North Sumatra, H. Surya, officially opened the 50th North Sumatra Fair (PRSU) at the PRSU Complex, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Medan, on Friday evening (July 3, 2026). Representing Governor M. Bobby Afif Nasution, Surya emphasized that this year's event is not merely an annual entertainment agenda for the public.
Carrying the theme 'Golden Harmony', the event serves as a symbol of the diversity of the North Sumatran people synergized with a strong determination to advance the region on both national and international stages. Surya stressed that PRSU is a showcase to display the quality of human resources, cultural richness, and the potential of leading regional MSME products.
Furthermore, Vice Governor Surya highlighted the transformation of North Sumatra, which is becoming increasingly progressive across various sectors, including infrastructure and hosting international sports events. He expressed hope that PRSU would serve as an economic engine, a platform for tourism promotion, and an investment magnet delivering tangible impacts on the welfare of the broader community.
President Director of PT Pembangunan Prasarana Sumatera Utara (PPSU), Ferry Indra, added that this year's excitement is supported by the participation of 33 pavilions from regencies/cities across North Sumatra, as well as a special pavilion from Penang Island. This diversity of participants is expected to strengthen cross-regional collaboration to boost creative economic growth and tourism in North Sumatra throughout the event until August 2, 2026.
