The Military Regional Command (Kodam) XV/Pattimura officially initiated the 2026 fiscal year "Indonesian Army Service for the People" program in Maluku Province. A solemn opening ceremony was held at the Parbulu Village Field, Waelata District, Buru Regency, on Friday (3/7/2026), marking the start of a 60-day series of community service activities.
Vice Governor of Maluku, Abdullah Fanath, who served as the ceremony inspector, expressed deep appreciation for the dedication of the Indonesian Army. According to him, strategic collaboration between the military, local government, and the community is a main pillar in accelerating development and strengthening regional security stability in the "Land of Kings".
Running from July 1 to August 29, 2026, the program deploys 426 joint personnel. The physical development focus includes repairing basic community facilities, such as building 20 bridges, rehabilitating 4 schools and 4 places of worship, and repairing 3 road segments. Additionally, the Army will target basic needs by constructing 37 drilled wells, 10 public sanitation facilities (MCK), 5 irrigation canals, and renovating 20 uninhabitable houses (RTLH).
On the non-physical side, activities also address aspects of social welfare and public health. A total of 500 residents are scheduled to receive free medical treatment, alongside mass circumcision programs, blood donation drives, distribution of basic food packages, and the awarding of scholarships to 15 high-achieving students in the area.
Commander of Military District Command (Dandim) 1506/Namlea, Lt. Col. Inf Heribertus Purwanto, as the field coordinator, assured that the entire series of activities will be coordinated through the main post at Makoramil 1506-04/Waeapo. The inauguration ceremony concluded with the symbolic handover of work tools and social assistance as a tangible commitment of the TNI to the people of Maluku.
